Douglas Kirkland | “Out of Character” Celebrity Portraits

Visit the exhibition — now open! Acclaimed photographer Douglas Kirkland was selected by The Academy to shoot portraits of this year’s acting nominees in a series titled “Out of Character” — and now you can see it in person! The series is now open for viewing at The Academy‘s Grand Lobby Gallery in Beverly Hills and will run until March 18th. This is the first time The Academy has chosen to have an exhibition of this sort, so if you’re in the area – be sure to stop by!

Douglas Kirkland | ‘Out of Character’ Oscar Portrait Exhibition

Douglas Kirkland‘s ‘Out of Character’ exhibition -which features portraits of all 20 of this year’s acting nominees- will be open for viewing at The Academy from February 11th to March 18th. You can view the portraits in the Academy’s Grand Lobby Gallery at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. ‘Out of Character’ will be open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is free.  We hope to see you there!

A Star Shoots The Stars

The Academy Awards has selected legendary photographer Douglas Kirkland to shoot all portraits of this year’s acting nominees, the most prestigious job in all of Hollywood. We have been keeping a very tight seal on this one, but the press release is finally out!

Douglas shot these Oscar contenders in the two weeks between the Nominations Announcement (January 24) and the Nominees Luncheon (February 6). To see the highly anticipated series in its entirety, click the image below. Congratulations Douglas!!
