Patrick Molnar | IPA Honorable Mentions

It was a good year for Pat Molnar! He received numerous Honorable Mentions from the International Photography Awards in several categories including advertising and editorial. Pat is best known for his use of natural/existing lighting, often short depth of field/selective focus and his ability to capture genuine actions and emotions from his subjects. Whether he is capturing a child’s gaze, the adrenaline of an athlete at play or the nuanced expression of a corporate executive Pat has the ability to capture the genuine moments that make up our lives. Douglas Kirkland Honored with ASC Presidents Award

The American Society of Cinematographers has awarded the legendary Douglas Kirkland with their Presidents Award “for capturing decades of superb stills depicting the industry’s filmmakers and stars.”

“For me,” says Douglas, “the ASC is the singular heart of the industry. I know so many of the members, and so many of them have done amazing work. There is no film without them — at least, no viable film.”

Kirkland is all smiles after persuading Elizabeth Taylor to pose for Look magazine in 1961.

During another session that same year, the photographer sets up a shot with Judy Garland.

Kirkland sets up a playfully sensual portrait of Marilyn Monroe in 1961.

Kirkland chats with fashion designer Coco Chanel.

Congratulations, Douglas ! We couldn’t be more proud.
